Paint Correction vs. Polishing: What Does Your Car Need?
Learn how gloss enhancement, one-step correction and two-step correction differ before booking paint work.

Polishing is a process; correction describes the goal
Polishing can improve gloss and reduce some imperfections. Paint correction uses an assessed polishing process to address defects such as swirls. The terms overlap; the useful question is what preparation, stages and results are included in the quote.
One stage or two?
A one-step approach uses a single correction/polishing stage. A two-step service uses cutting followed by polishing. More stages do not automatically make a service appropriate for every vehicle: paint condition and the remaining finish matter.
Set realistic expectations
Polishing removes a small amount of the paint surface. Deep scratches, chips and other damage may need a different repair. Discuss achievable results before proceeding.
